Spectacular 32mm oxidised brass penny presented in a blister pack with information card. Amid the shell-torn landscape of the Western Front, on 25 April 1916, many in the Australian Imperial Force marked the first anniversary of Gallipoli with Church parades and commemorative services to remember comrades left in the rugged hills on the peninsula. It is within this spirit of respect and remembrance that Australia continues a tradition of observance at dawn on 25 April each year. This is our Dawn of Respect for the fallen and all who serve our nation. In the Centenary of Australia in the Great War we honour their sacrifice.
