Made to last
This watch design was first launched by Bausele in 2011 and has been perfected and tested to the highest standard over almost a decade.
Constructed from surgical grade 316L stainless steel with gun metal IP (blue and black versions). Features a Sapphire crystal face that cannot be scratched or broken.
It has been over 70 years since the RAAF commissioned a watch. We have built this watch using the same Swiss manufacturing techniques as the original watches, now worth many times their original value as collector’s items and designed by IWC and Jaeger LeCoultre.
Clear dial design
The clean look of the dial with large hands makes it very easy to read. The RAAF Centenary logo creates a unique collector’s edition keepsake. The second hand has been designed in the shape of a F/A-18 Hornet. The Dial features a count up function actioned by the crown at 2 o'clock which turns the multi-directional inner ring. The purpose of the count up is to track elapsed time.
The uniquely designed crown, located at 4 o'clock for comfort, contains actual soil from Point Cook base, the first Royal Australian Air Force base, set under unbreakable glass.
Historic Case Back
The watch back includes a piece cut directly from aircraft number A21-01, the first F/A-18A Hornet fighter jet made and flown in Australia
It features Broad Arrow next to the limited-edition number. Each watch is individually numbered.
The waterproof strap is made of high- performance recycled PET plastic which has been reinforced and designed to last. Additional straps are easily self-changeable, making it a superbly versatile watch.
The watch is secured by the most efficient deployed buckle, used by luxury brands.
The white face is visible at night through a glow in the dark feature, and comes with a contrasting black band
The stylish black dial features white hands and numerals that glow in the dark for night- time visibility, and it is matched with a black band.
The blue dial comes with a matching blue band and is inspired by the colour Air Force colour blue.
