Product Description:
Eighty years after the end of World War II, this limited edition, individually numbered lapel pin pays tribute to the courageous air crews and the remarkable aircraft that took to the skies in defence of freedom.
Part of the “War Machines of WWII” commemorative trio, this pin honours the power and agility of Australia’s air force through a beautifully detailed antique silver rendering of the CA-13 Boomerang; affectionately nicknamed "Sinbad II." Positioned at the heart of a rich red enamel poppy, it stands as a powerful symbol of remembrance and national pride.
The Boomerang was one of the only combat aircraft designed and built entirely in Australia during the war. Though it had a relatively short service life, it played a critical role in providing air support to ground forces in the Pacific theatre. Agile, durable, and Australian-made, it represents both innovation and bravery in the face of adversity.
The surrounding poppy honours those who served in the skies; pilots, navigators, engineers, and ground crews, many of whom made the ultimate sacrifice.
Limited to just 1,000 individually numbered pieces, this lapel pin is both a striking collector’s item and a heartfelt tribute to the role of air power in WWII. Wear it with pride and gratitude for those who flew into danger, ensuring the skies remained free.
