Across the country and around the world, Australians attended Anzac Day Commemorative Services to pay tribute to our service men and women on 25 April 2019.

At the Australian War Memorial in Canberra, an estimated 45,000 people attended the National Ceremony and veterans’ march. The proceedings at the War Memorial also included Sir Peter Cosgrove's last Anzac Day address as Governor General. 

More than 25,000 people gathered for the Anzac Day dawn service at the Shrine of Remembrance in Melbourne, with similar numbers attendeding the Martin Place dawn service and veteran's parade in Sydney. 

The refurbished Shrine of Remembrance in Brisbane's Anzac Square hosted around 20,000 people, while in Adelaide around 6,000 people attended the service at the South Australian National War Memorial.

In Perth, a crowd of about 30,000 people gathered at Kings Park State War Memorial. The dawn service in Martin Place and subsequent parade in  

Around 16,000 people gathered at the Auckland War Memorial (last year's attendance was estimated at 22,000).

 

Dawn services were also well-attended at important sites internationally:

 - 1,434 attended Anzac Day Dawn Service, Gallipoli, Turkey

 - 956 attended Lone Pine Service, Gallipoli, Turkey

 - 1,905 attended Anzac Day Service, Villers-Bretonneux, France

 - 1,040 attended Anzac Day Service, Hellfire Pass, Thailand

 - 330 attended Anzac Day Service, Sandakan, Malaysia

 - 933 attended Anzac Day Service, Isurava, Papua New Guinea

 - 2,500-3,000 attended Anzac Day Service, Port Moresby (Bomana) War Cemetery, Papua New Guinea
