Eighty years after peace was finally declared, the Royal Australian Mint has released a new $2 coin design honouring the courage, loss and resilience of Australians during the Second World War.
These stunning 2025 $2 Proof and Uncirculated Poppy Wreath coins feature eight red poppies - one for each decade since the guns fell silent - surrounded by sculpted leaves symbolising remembrance and renewal.

Proof Coin (Fine AG (Silver) Proof):
Struck in 99.9% fine AG (Silver) (8.55 g), the Proof version features mirror-polished fields and frosted relief, presented in a display case with numbered certificate. Limited to 10,000 coins worldwide.
Uncirculated Coin (AlBr):
Minted to an uncirculated standard (6.60 g aluminium-bronze) and packaged in a presentation card, with a mintage of 100,000.
Collectors often acquire both — Proof for prestige, Unc for everyday display.

Each coin’s reverse was designed by A. Stokic and the obverse by D. Thorne.
The coins are officially released 8:30 AM AEST Thursday 6 November 2025, commemorating the 80th Anniversary of the end of WWII. Military Shop has secured a limited allocation for inclusion in exclusive collector gift bundles.
