Meet Stars of Scale Modelling at Anniversary Expo 8-9 November 2025
The ACT Scale Modellers’ Society (ACTSMS) invites enthusiasts, families, and hobbyists to celebrate a special milestone at ScaleACT 25, the region’s premier scale modelling event, held at Thoroughbred Park in Lyneham on 8–9 November.
This year marks the 25th anniversary of ScaleACT, and the organisers are pulling out all stops to make it a truly memorable showcase. The event is proudly supported by the ACT Government as well as the Military Shop.
Australia’s Premier Scale Modelling Showcase
With around 800 competition entries, ScaleACT 25 is one of Australia’s largest and most diverse model competitions. Visitors can explore stunning creations across every category — from aircraft, armour, and ships to figures, dioramas, and sci-fi masterpieces.
The event also features a bustling Swap and Sell, themed displays, club showcases, expert demonstrations, and a vibrant vendor hall filled with kits, tools, and accessories.
Open to all modellers, regardless of skill or experience, the competition provides a welcoming platform for newcomers and veterans alike. Spectators will enjoy seeing some of the country’s most talented creators display their craft in miniature form.
A Weekend of Fun for All Ages
ScaleACT 25 is not just for modellers — it’s an event for everyone. There will be static displays of real cars and motorcycles, hands-on build activities for kids, on-site catering, and plenty of family-friendly attractions throughout the weekend.
Other local hobby groups will also join the celebration, including the Canberra Model Shipwrights, Task Force 72, Ngauge Railways, Canberra Regional Wargames, and the Canberra Display Painters Guild, adding even more variety to the experience.
Outside the venue, car and motorcycle enthusiasts can look forward to additional displays, including a preview of the Festival of Speed, with several local clubs dropping by over the weekend.
