Q.   Where did they go to the toilet?
A.   Each unit was responsible for digging latrines in the unit area, including in the front line trenches. Men were ordered to only use the latrines when they needed to go to the toilet and units were issued with lime and other disinfectants to place in the latrine pits to combat flies and smell.
